Recipe serves: 4-6

Thai green beans with chili paste

1 lbs green beans, in large bite size pieces
2 Tbsp canola oil
2 each garlic clove , minced (optional)
1 Tbsp roasted chili paste (nam prik pow)
1 Tbsp fish sauce
¼ tsp salt
¼ cup water
¾ tsp corn starch
¼ cup room temperature water
½ cup basil leaves (optional)

Preparation steps:
  1. Heat a wok over high heat and add oil.
  2. Optional: add garlic and stir for 15 seconds.
  3. Add the green beans and stir fry for 2-4 minutes.
  4. Mix the roasted chili paste, fish sauce, salt and ¼ cup water. Add to the wok. Cover and simmer for 6 minutes.
  5. Mix the corn starch with ¼ cup water. Add to the wok. Cover and continue to simmer 4 more minutes.
  6. Optional: add basil leaves just before serving.
