Recipe serves: 4

Malawach with Greek yogurt

Ingredients

2 each malawach crust
2 tsp zaatar
2 tsp olive oil

1 cup tzatziki dip
2 each small cucumber, sliced

Preparation steps:
  1. Defrost the malawach crusts about 10-15 minutes before use.
  2. Season and cut the crusts: rub half of the za'atar and olive oil onto each crust.
Cut each crust into 8 triangles (like pizza slices).
  3. Shape the pieces: Roll each triangle to form a rugelach-like shape.
While rolling, stretch the sides lightly so each piece becomes thin and about 4" long.
  4. Bake the malawach: arrange the rolled triangles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake at 360°F for 20 minutes.
Flip the triangles over and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes.
Serving: Serve warm on a platter with sliced cucumbers and tzatziki dip.
Alternatively, pair with a goat cheese and parsley dip.

Take note:
  • Malawach recommended brand:
    Ta'amti
It is available as a frozen item
    in Mediterranean grocery stores.

  • Baking time may need adjustment
when using other brands to account
    for variations in crust thickness.
