Preparation steps: |
- Defrost the malawach crusts about 10-15 minutes before use.
- Season and cut the crusts: rub half of the za'atar and olive oil onto each crust.
Cut each crust into 8 triangles (like pizza slices).
- Shape the pieces: Roll each triangle to form a rugelach-like shape.
While rolling, stretch the sides lightly so each piece becomes thin and about 4" long.
- Bake the malawach:
arrange the rolled triangles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake at 360°F for 20 minutes.
Flip the triangles over and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes.
Serving: Serve warm on a platter with sliced cucumbers and tzatziki dip.
Alternatively, pair with a goat cheese and parsley dip.
