Simple basmati rice

Ingredients
 
2 cup basmati rice
2 Tbsp oil
3 cup tap water
1 Tbsp chicken soup powder
½ tsp salt
 


Preparation steps:
  1. Rinse the rice and then soak it in water in a medium-sized pot for 20-30 minutes. Drain the water by tilting the pot on its side and pouring out as much water as possible.
  2. Add 2 Tbsp oil and saute the rice for 2 minutes until all the water evaporates.
  3. Add 3 cups of water, chicken soup powder, and salt, mix all ingredients.
  4. Bring to simmer. Simmer covered for about 10 minutes or until all the water is absorbed. Turn off the heat, gently fluff the rice with a spoon, and let it stand for another 15-30 minutes.
