Preparation steps: |
- Saute the onion in a non-stick pan until caramelized (light brown).
- Rinse the rice and then soak it in water in a medium-sized pot for 20-30 minutes.
Drain the water by tilting the pot on its side and pouring out as much water as possible
- Add 2 Tbsp oil and saute the rice for 2 minutes until all the water evaporates.
- Add water, green peas, fried onion, chicken soup powder, salt, black pepper, and dill.
- Bring to simmer. Simmer covered for about 10 minutes or until all the water is absorbed.
Turn off the heat, gently fluff the rice with a spoon, and let it stand for another 15-30 minutes.
