Beef and beans stew

½ bag mixed dry beans
1 large onion, diced
2-3 lbs beef chuck pot roast
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
2 Tbsp vegetable oil
6 cup water
2 Tbsp chicken soup powder
2 Tbsp beef soup powder
1 Tbsp paprika
1 tsp salt
¼ tsp hot chili powder
1 cup ketchup

Preparation steps:
  1. Soak the beans in water for 4-8 hours.
  2. In a large pot heat up the water, soup powders, paprika, salt and hot chili.
  3. In a large non-stick pan warm the oil and saute the onion. Transfer the caramelized onions to the pot.
  4. Sprinkle the beef with salt and black pepper. Brown the beef on all sides and transfer it to pot.
  5. Cook for 1½ hours.
  6. Cut the beef to small bite size pieces. Strain the beans. Transfer the cut beef and beans to the pot.
  7. Cook additional 1½ hours.
  8. Add ketchup and adjust flavors.
Serving: Use deep large dinner plates.
