Steamed mahi-mahi with ginger and green onions

Ingredients
 
1 lbs skinless mahi-mahi fillet
 
Sauce
1 Tbsp canola oil
½ Tbsp sesame oil
1 Tbsp ginger, minced
3 each large green onion, chopped
8 Tbsp water
4 Tbsp soy sauce
1 Tbsp rice wine
3 tsp sugar
tsp black pepper
 


Preparation steps:
  1. Rinse the fish. Place the fish on a flat plate and set the plate in the steamer with boiling water.
  2. Steam for 20 minutes.
  3. Discard the water from the plate, and set aside in a deep serving plate.
  4. Stir fry the ginger with the canola oil and sesame oil in a skillet for 1 minute. Add the green onion and continue to stir fry additional 1 minute.
  5. Add water, soy sauce, rice wine, sugar and black pepper. Cook for 2 minutes.
  6. Poor the sauce over the fish and serve.

Alternatives:
  • Replace the mahi-mahi with cod, rock fish
    or any other white fish.
  • If steaming a whole fish,
    add 5-10 minutes to steaming time.
