Hummus

Ingredients
 
8 oz dry garbanzo beans
½ tsp baking powder
3 cup water
 
8-9 oz tahini paste
2-3 each medium garlic clove
4 Tbsp lemon juice
1 Tbsp olive oil
113 cup cold water
1 tsp salt
 


Preparation steps:
  1. In a medium pot cook the garbanzo beans, water and baking powder for 2 hours. Strain the water and put aside.
  2. In a blender, process the tahini paste, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, water and salt.
  3. Set aside 13 cup cooked garbanzo beans to decorate the hummus plate.
  4. Transfer the cooked garbanzo beans to the blender, process until it becomes a consistent paste.
Serving: with pita bread.

Take note!
  • Tahini paste is sold in Middle Eastern
    grocery stores in jars of 16 oz or 500gram
    Use ½ a jar for this recipe.
